Jaybird Vista Audio Pass-through?
I recently bought a pair of Jaybird's Vista earbuds and I have been absolutely loving them. However, the one feature they are missing that I feel many other similarly priced earbuds contain is audio pass-through, so you can hear what is going on in the environment around you if you need it. I first figured they just were not capable of that such feature, but when I first called someone while using the earbuds, I discovered that my surrounding audio passes through during the call. For some reason, the earbuds pass through all environmental audio when on a phone call, and then stop when you hang up. I don't understand why they would do this only on calls, as I feel like it is a great feature that could easily be added through an update. The lack of this feature is one of the main gripes that I and many others have had about the earbuds, so it just puzzles me as to why it would be left out when it seems like they could handle it easily.

Hi Zach,
Thank you for joining the community and for posting your query.
Before we had this feature in previous truly wireless models such as Run and Run XT. This was because only the right buds was used when in phone calls. For the Jaybird Vista, you can use one or both buds when on a phone call. You can try and lower the in-call volume for more audio transparency.

I agree with Zach. This would be a really helpful feature. Can Jaybird create a Vista firmware update that will add constant audio pass-through for the whole lisening experience rather than just phone calls, such as music, videos, podcasts, radio, etc.?
Jabra added Active Noise Cancelation with an update to their 75T. I thought, wow, if only Jaybird would do that with audio pass-through for the Vistas. Audio pass through is a huge selling point and I would love to have this feature. I also think Bruce's answer included some helpful information but didnt direclty answer Zach's question.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob Goodman is right, my question wasn't really answered. I just don't really understand why audio passthrough works on calls but you can activate it for everyday use. That would be a GAME CHANGER with these earbuds as that's really the only feature I feel they are missing. It would make them so much easier to use when doing things like ordering coffee or somebody comes up to you to talk while you're wearing them.

I second the passthrough feature. Right now I am only getting audio on my left bud when making a skype call from my laptop. I just picked these up and may be returning them. It feels like ear plugs not being able to hear what is around or having to pull them out just to have a live conversation. I have 28 more days to decide to keep or return.
