New Jaybird Freedom won't turn on without without charging clip

    Also, I've already read this responses from Jaybird_Bruce and it does not help

    I am sorry to hear that your Jaybird Freedom won't work without the charging clip. I can assure that this is not the behavior and performance expected from the product. Please try these suggestions that can help to resolve the issue of your headset:

    - Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.

    - Try a different power source/charger

    - Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.

    - Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2.5 hours,

    - To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.

    - Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.

    - Make sure charging port/cradle is clear of any debris.

    This is another response I've seen and tried the steps from Jaybird_Bruce and it did not help:

    Here is a list of steps for the Factory Reset:


    1.Make sure your buds are powered off.

    2.From an off state, press and hold the power button for 8 seconds until the LEDs flash red and green.

    3.Double press the power button. The LED will flash rapidly and you should hear a double tone. Your buds have now been reset.


    You can further isolate the issue by testing using a different device or a device with a different OS.

    Documenting this for the public record, but I was just contacted by Sangeetha and given the following instructions (I've tried them already after reading them in another thread and they also do not solve the issue):

    Please follow these steps exactly and precisely to ensure our best chance of resolving your issue. Once you've completed these steps let us know how it went and we'll go from there! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

    Proper Cleaning Instructions:

    1. Before we get started, please be aware that your charging cradle or charging case is not water or sweat proof like your buds are. To clean these components, it is okay to use damp or moist utensils. However, you should avoid too much moisture as it may cause your charging cradle or case to fail.
    2. We'll start the cleaning process by ensuring that your buds are turned off, and your charging cradle or case is removed from and is not connected to any power source, or is not plugged in.
    3. Now, remove all of your accessories from your buds. (Ear tips, fins, gels, etc.)
    4. Thoroughly wipe each piece down with a dry cloth or q-tip to remove any larger debris.
    5. Now use either isopropyl alcohol, a disinfectant wipe, or some warm water with a mild soap and give each component of your buds a good scrub and/or wipe down. We recommend utilizing a toothbrush, and/or q-tip, and to pay especially close attention to cleaning your audio drivers, and any contact points used for charging your buds.
    6. Once you are done with the cleaning, rinse each component of your buds with fresh water, and wipe them down with a dry cloth. (Remember: Do not do this with your case or charging cradle.) Now, leave your buds to let dry.
    7. Wipe down your charging device with a damp disinfectant wipe or moist towelette/q-tip. Here we are hoping to remove any films and order small debris that may be creating a barrier between the charging contact points on your buds. Now, leave your charging component to dry, please continue.
    8. Firmly but quickly press the power button 8 times and then hold that same button down for 5 seconds.
    9. Repeat step 1 twice while connected to the charging cradle.
    10. Once completed, go ahead and leave the headset in the charger for 2.5 hours.
    11. Check the color of the LED status lights from here.
    12. Go ahead and attempt to power up the buds by holding the power button for 10 seconds or more.
    13. From here, you should notice your buds boot back up and be ready for use!
