I have a pair of X3 headphones. I have some problems with them and i am in contact with support. They asked for the serial number on my device. After a search on Google a saw the serial number is:
"Please note that the device Serial Number on the Jaybird X3's are printed on the device's cord/wire. The Serial Number is a 16 character alpha-numeric string. Usually, starts with "16" or "17" and ends in "8"."
That paragraph is copied from asupport person helping another costumer. So, i look at my earbuds and see the a series of numbers starting with "17" and ending with an "8".
But when i gave them the number they came back and said that they can't validate the number. They also ask me to look for the serial number on my app and send a screenshot of that number. But when i look in the app in only see a "device id" number. So my question is: are those two the same thing or am i looking in the wrong place? Because it is a number, but it does not start with 17 or 16 and does not end with an 8. And it is longer than 16 characters. Should i see a serial number on that screen aswell.
Agan, have folloew the advice from a support person, helping another person. "Another way is to go to Support under Menu on the Jaybird App." And i am in the support under menu.
So am looking in the wrong place? Is there something wrong with my headphones? Is "device id" and "serial number" the same thing?
I just want to end this by saying that i am happy with the headphones. But i am not yet happy with the support i have been given. They have given me not working links, asked me too look for the "serial number" without telling med where to find it. (And when i find it, it is apperently wrong. Then the next time they ask me to find it again. "in the app". And the app has no place where the "serial number" is shown. Only a "device id" and the number does not look the way the "serial number" should look with 16 characters and atarting with 17 or 16 and ending with 8.
