    I had a similar issue , but for me it happened when my jaybirds where in my jacket pocket

    I barely touched the foam tip and it and the metal piece fell right off. As it came off it displaced a copper coil too. It's a shame because they worked great but are now useless because the adhesive that was used to join the two pieces has failed. Luckily my old blue bud x's are still working so I have something to use.
