    So what is the answer to the question asked? how do you update?

    go to your computer and download the jaybird app. Connect your case with to the USB on your computer with the right earbud in only. I had to press the button on the case to get it to start updating. Once it was updated it gave the same instructions to update the left earbud. Hopefully my issues with these earbuds will be solved. If not I will return them and try something else.
