    Hi Gofrogs,

I'm sorry to hear that your Jaybird X3 will not power OFF. I do understand the situation you are in right now and this is not the behavior we expect from our product.

Try a factory reset by following the steps below.

    1. Make sure your buds are powered off.
    2. From an off state, press and hold the power button for 8 seconds until the LEDs flash red and green.
    3. Double press the power button. The LED will flash rapidly and you should hear a double tone. Your buds have now been reset.

If this does not work, try draining the battery then charge it for 2.5 hours and see how it goes.

Feel free to reach us back by replying to this post or contacting our other support channels at https://www.jaybirdsport.com/en-us/support.html

    Best Regards,

    Jaybird_Egie

I tried draining the battery but the light came back on after it charged. I’m getting a replacement. Jaybird Customer Service didn’t have a fix for it. Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone

I am on my 4th pair of jaybird x3 headsets. My first pair went bad under the year warranty and have sent 3 pairs now back because of issues. So far, I have made sure that I have: 1. Not overcharged them. 2. I have charged them with a 1 amp charger, or less. 3. I have taken care of each pair and NOT abused them. The past 3 pairs returned to me, including this last pair, are less than a month old. Each one either has had a light continoulsy on issue, turning not turning on, or charging issue. Have any of the ones I have returned been tested? I don't know, but something is wrong or I have really bad luck. The customer service has been great but I believe there is a major quality control issue. It's ashame because they sound great. Until I get an answer, I'm pretty much done with jaybird.

I gave up after 2 pair and tried another brand. If anyone comes up with a solution, please share because I really like everything about them when they’re working.

I am so disappointed. This would also be my third pair. IMG_2229

Try Bose Soundsport, JBL Audio or Aftershockz. Jaybird by far has the best fit. Bose has the best sound but they are bulky and can be almost as temperamental as Jaybird (make sure you charge them correctly and never right after a run or workout). JBL doesn’t have the best sound but they’re surprisingly durable. I just started trying a pair of Aftershockz. They are very different but I like them so far and have had no issues.

The jaybird support is as dead as our headphones

I have the identical issue and have only had them for 1 month, used about a dozen times. Red light stays on and zero power after charging multiple times and tried the reset strategy as well. Quality and fit of the headphones are great, but I am getting a bit frustrated at this point. Still no response from support after a day, but I guess I should be patient.

If they ever get the battery issues fixed, I’ll be the first to buy a pair but I have given up until they have fixed the problem. If you want a response from them, you may want to start a new thread. They may not review long threads (just a guess). Good luck.

Same issue here for me. Where do I go to get a refund?

Good luck?, they may send you three replacement headphones that don't work. Then they will tell you to go buy a new pair from the store because they are better than the replacements(not in the exact same words)....this actually happened. They will also try to give you a 20 or 30% discount. I have given them every opportunity to make it right, even questioned if any of the 3 headphones were tested. Definitely a quality control issue going on. They don't care about the consumers as long as the sales each day are greater than the complaints.

Second pair just started to give me problems.....red light started to sporadically blink and now solid and won't turn off. It will be dead soon (of course) then I'll have to go through the headache of returning them through JayBird's $hitty customer service. Last time I literally had to deal with four customer service reps over the course of three weeks before I got my replacement pair. This of course is by design to discourage you so they don't have to standby their warranty. Go with JBLs - I bought a backup pair first time X3s failed. And although they are not as nice as X3s - fit and finish wise - they're much more durable.

I had the same issue. I gave up and drained the battery. After 6-7 months, I charged it because of my curiosity and now it's fine ¯\_(?)_/¯

Same issue.  I'm done with this brand and just going to order something else.  For the mid level pricing they charge, this quality is unacceptable.
