    Hi Borin,

I'm sad to hear that your Jaybird X3 has a battery problem. I'll be glad to help you with the concern.

Please try the steps below that can help resolve the issue with the headset.

    1. Make sure to clean and dry the headset and charging clip.

    2. Drain the battery of the headset.

    3. Fully charge the Jaybird X3.

    4. Perform a Factory Reset, and if the issue persist. Kindly try the 8 button process then charge the headset for 2.5 hours.

Here's the steps on how to perform an Factory Reset.

    1.Turn headphones off

2.Put headphones into Pairing mode (hold middle button for 6-8 seconds until it says, ""Searching for your Music Device"")

3.Headphones will flash red and green

4.Once in Pairing Mode, push the middle button twice. The lights will flash red and turn off.

5.Delete the Bluetooth profile from your phone or music device.

6.Pair phone and headset again with middle button.

    - Let me know if it does not fix the problem.

Here's the steps on how to perform an 8 button process.

    1. Firmly but quickly press the power button 8 times and then hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 2 times.

    2. When finished, plug the headset into the charger for 2.5 hours and check the color of the LED status lights.

    3. Power ON the device by holding the power button for 10 seconds or more.

NOTE: Most of the time if the headset turns RED, it will charge and function normally again. Make sure to fully charge the headset when the light is red.

    Hope this helps.

    Warm regards,

    Egie

Having the same issue. Can we try and see if we have something in common. I’m on an iPhone 7plus using ios11 latest developer beta for the last week or so. Before that I was using iOS 10 latest stable build and still experienced issues. Wondering once the headset has paired is there a way to stop It broadcasting as discoverable. I don’t connect it to anything but my phone so would love to disable discovery. I’ve also noticed occasionally I’ll get the audio tone “connected” even though I’m already connected to phone and actively listening to something. I’ve read so many good reviews about battery life that I find it hard to believe this is an issue during build.

i ever used my ex-X3 with Galaxy S7 edge android 6 and also ever used it with Android 7 of S8+, with my ios too ...

and the problem is not about device that we connect i though the point of problem is X3 never off even it said "Power Off".

i feel like hardware inside the X3 still working solo withouth connect to anyphone and it drain the battery !

as what i said above, if i charge it today until fully charge and turn it off but when i turn it on for tomorrow the X3 announce "Battery 40%" :-(

it made the bad experience of this !!!

i am the fan of Jaybird since X2 !

and i ever felt can't wait to use X3 since it announced while i was using X2...

    ...

But right now it made feel sad about it and i just try other brand of "skullcandy method wireless"

the sound quality is about 95% of X3 and battery is very best !

but i still wish to use Jaybird X4 if they guarantee the battery issue already fixed !

Same problem here... The battery of my X3's drain completely even when they are turned off... Super bummed out about this as they were not cheap.

I am on my 3rd pair of the year and the battery is still the issue, it will no longer hold it's charge. Despite a full charge and turning it off, it will say 60%, 40%, when turned on again. There must be a hardware defect, it is so frustrating, 3 pairs in less than a year. I like Jaybirds and don't really want to go anywhere else, because there aren't really and decent, affordable pairs out there.

I've had FOUR pairs, two of which were warranty replacements that developed a battery problem (the first was sent back to Amazon because of Bluetooth connection issues). I also go from 100% to 60% without even using them. It's as if they develop a "memory" which is something I though we said goodbye to like 20 years ago. I've been training for a marathon and can't depend on these headphones at all (I greatly depend on my music to stay alive while I run). These are garbage headphones and I won't buy another Jaybird product. As much as I hate to say it, I'll be going back to Beats (puke)... Unless anyone has a better recommendation?

Even before the issue I don't think they ever lasted the full 8 hours, more like 4. I hate beats, don't need to have owned a pair to know that. They are just mainstream, commercialised bull

While I'm not a Beats fan because of price, their headphones last upwards of 8-12 hours depending on the model and have the W1 chip, which saves battery life like crazy if you're an iPhone user. The connection is also significantly better than Jaybird. I can't utilize the X3's in the over-ear sport fit without a choppy connection (the biggest reason I bought them). I'd also like to point out Jaybird has an iOS 7 latency issue it has yet to fix yet (they've done their best to keep this a secret). We're going on iOS 8 in less than two weeks, folks.

Logitech is garbage. Thus, Jaybird is garbage.

I'm thinking of going for the Bose Soundsport Wireless. I have read some good things about them. So bummed as I loved my X3s while they were working but shoooweeee did that feeling change quickly when they started acting up :-)

I wish I would have read this before I bought my first pair. They never lasted more than 4 hours out of the box. When I finally got around to complaining, they stopped working altogether. My second pair never lasted more than 2 hours. I don't want to keep this up forever, doesn't make sense that they don't meet advertised claims out of box....feels like class action to me

I've watch many reviews on youtube from many youtubers from the US and UK stating that the claim of 8 hours battery life was justificable. Is it just the batches made/send to Malaysia having faulty issues? Just bought one from Jaybird Malaysia and should be arriving next week. Finger crossed.

X2 lasted for 13 months and then had battery issues. So i decided to buy the X3, not even 3 months and the battery is not functioning!. Shame I really like JAYBIRD. But I am going to the best reliable product Bose.. the new Bose wireless.

I've bought the x3 before reading these post and can confirm the battery life will not go beyond 4hr. A big difference to the promise of 8hrs. The headphone are only few wks old. Replacement has been ordered but i highly doubt its a fault. All troubleshooting done it is what it is so should not advertise 8hr battery life. Besides that quality is good just don't expect it to last 8 hr you be lucky to get 4.

I was able to resolve my issues. I did the reset then charged them to full and discharged them fully and then reset them again and them charged them up. For about a week I did this and was pleased to get 7.5 hours at about 60% volume. Volume makes a massive difference and also I was using the RnB preset from the sound app. I finished a marathon and had 20% spare too so im now getting very consistent battery times. Maybe they need wearing in or you need to reset the electronics a little.

I did a reset and a full recharge and didnt notice any difference. I am using the everyday listening as a preset. So for today I listen to it on way to work for 50mins, then an hour during work and another hour on way back form work today and down to 10 % left so just under 4hours. Will keep monitoring this week on after a full charge, I can get a replacement but to do that I need to take a before and after pic showing I've cut the cable behind the both earbuds to prove it will no longer usable, great if the new earbuds last longer but not good if you dont have a replacement to use while waiting for the new replacement.

I don't have the problem. I switch it off after every use but assume you do that too. That's one problem I've seen here that i never had. Even if i leave them on and paired they maintain battery fairly well considering they're not being used. Also try pairing and un-pairing your device quite often, It could be the phone persisting a connection for things like Siri or Google now, constantly drawing power to keep the mic open or something like that.

Yeah Its off when I dont use them, I was thinking could it be using more battery if I keep turning them on and off, for instance if I use t hem for 30 mins here and there or if I left them running non stop would it last longer, might be a interesting experiment. I probably try unpairing and pairing up again to see if that make a difference.

Very good point. In my marathon i didn't switch them off at all and on my day to day use, I switch them on and off about 3 times a day, the rest of the time i leave them on and just change the audio output on my phone for calls or times when i need to say play podcast using loud speaker. Also worth noting ios11 vs ios10 might have an impact. I've noticed it drains most of Bluetooth devices faster i think to nudge you onto w1/2 chip supported headphones.

I will try running it continuously to see if it it makes a difference. I'm pairing mine with Samsung S7 edge so on android with latest firmware. Then again it is still a long way off the 8hrs

I have had the same issue with the battery not lasting more than 3hrs. I had the x2 for many years that had a battery life of about 8hrs, decided to get the x3 and straight out of the box...3hr life.?

I sent a messge to Jaybird about it and have not received a response after 3 weeks.
