I just had this problem a few minutes ago, when attempting to connect the earbuds to my mac.. it disconnected right away after attempting to connect and the loud buzzing started through both ear buds.

I held the middle button for what felt like forever (20 seconds) and they finally shut off and when I restarted them, the buzzing seemed to go away.

Just bought them too, not sure if I should return them at this point...

    Hello Guilleelmaquina and escapesequence,

I am sorry to hear that your Jaybird Tarah Pro makes a buzzing sound. This is not the quality we're expecting from our product.

Please observe the buds if they emit static for prolonged periods. Kindly try the reset as well to resolve the issue of your buds.

Before starting this process please “FORGET” or “REMOVE” your Tarah Pro device in your Bluetooth list of discovered devices in your phone or music device.

    1. With your earbuds off, press and hold the middle button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes white and you hear the pairing prompt.

    2. Double press the middle button. The LED will flash red briefly and the earbuds will turn off. Your earbuds have now been reset.

    3. When turned back on, your earbuds will automatically be in pairing mode. You will need to pair them to your audio device again and re-select your favourite preset.

Feel free to reach back to us by replying to this post or contacting our other support channels at https://www.jaybirdsport.com/en-us/support.html

    Warm Regards,

    Jaybird_Bruce

Yeah, the thing is, the earbuds wont turn off, the botons are unresponsive until the battery compleatly drains. So your solution will not work, at least for me...

I had a similar issue too. They do not respond at all until you can plug them in. Guess what, they only plug into Jaybird's custom charger... yay

I'm having the same problem. Sometimes when I connect my device the headphones will blast an ear piercing buzzing sound and the headphones become completely unresponsive until the battery dies, or I plug them into a charger. Do you think this is a software, or hardware problem? I'm getting a replacement pair sent to me, but I'm worried I'll still experience the same issue. Basically my only option is to carry the charger everywhere

I have a similar problem. The buds will sometimes just turn off with no sound. Sometimes I get the lovely buzz first. Frequently when this happens I have to go find my proprietary Tarah Pro cable ($35 on Amazon - not available from Jaybird) and plug them in for a few seconds. If I’m on the road and didn’t think to bring my rare and precious cable with me, I’m out of luck until I get home.

Most irritating is how, on my iPhone 6s+, they will quite commonly disconnect just as I answer the phone. And suddenly I have to either quickly grab my phone and put it to my ear or turn on the speaker.

But when the Tarah Pros are working, they are wonderful.

I connected the earbuds together and held the power button for a little while and they eventually turned off and I booted them up again and they worked fine and the buzzing stopped

Same problem here. I know how to stop the buzzing noise but the real thing I expect is the earphones can be used without this error. Sometimes music just stopped and started buzzing, which is annoying, especially after thinking about how actually good the headphones is. Plz, this error should be fixed not temporarily but throughly.

Does anyone have a solution to the problem without having to plug it in the charger again? It's so annoying when it suddenly starts buzzing and I can't even turn off my headphones to restart!

Purchased my Tarah pros 2 months ago and encountering the same buzzing issues. What happened to the quality control department? Too many customers with the same issue. So disappointed with Jaybird. Started carrying around my Sony Bluetooth headphones ($75.00) to do what the Tarah Pro cannot do (be reliable delivering quality audio).

This is also happening to my Tarah Pro's when trying to connect to my macbook pro. It is an older macbook pro and bluetooth version is 4.0. It has not happened yet when trying to connect to my newer Android phone.

Hopefully an update to the headphones comes along, because this is a pretty frustrating experience. I have already been late to dial into a couple of meetings because the headphones are buzzing.

Same here! I just got my buds today, and just experienced this buzzing sound. I've used them for ONLY 1 running section (30 min). Why is this....

I am having this problem too.  The buzzing noise came on suddenly when trying to pair, and would not stop by any method described by support- but did not not have my charging cable with me, so I could not try that method for shutting off the buzz.  I estimate that it went on for approximately 5 minutes, before it finally shut off on its own.  This is the 2nd time this has happened since I purchased these headphones, I have owned them for approximately a month.   I will contact support tomorrow, have been wanting to, as pairing the headphones is hit and miss, and often a hassle.

Same here. They crackle and pop all the time too while listening. They are definitely not delivering on the quality for the price paid. Also frequently have issues with Bluetooth while trying to use them for phone calls.

They really are a poor quality product. Check out their reviews on Trust Pilot. They refuse to honor their product warranty and outright lie to their customers.

Good luck trying to claim on your warranty.

I've had my Tarah Pros for a few months now without any issues (none that I can pin on the buds, at least)
I JUST experienced this buzzing when linking the buds to my computer. It stopped after I turned them off (held the button down for 20+ seconds).

I purchased the Jaybird Freedom back in 2017 and absolutely loved them until the power button cam disconnected from the motherboard and I was outside of my year-long warranty, so they wouldn't replace them. It was a problem a lot of users were experiencing and understandably frustrated with.

Really hoping this doesn't become a recurring theme. I want to like Jaybird, they're a reasonable price point and comfortable with practical features. It definitely keeps me from purchasing the newer/ more expensive models when I can't trust the simpler ones.
