Why am I hearing static coming from the earbuds when they are charging?

    Hi Brian4937,

     

    I am sorry to hear that you're getting static on your Jaybird X2's. This is not the quality we're expecting from our product.

     

    Here is a list of steps for the Factory Reset:

     

    1.Make sure your buds are powered off.

    2.From an off state, press and hold the power button for 8 seconds until the LEDs flash red and green.

    3.Hold both volume buttons down for 8 seconds. The LED will flash rapidly and you should hear a double tone. Your buds have now been reset.

     

    You can further isolate the issue by testing using a different device or a device with a different OS.

    Thanks for the speedy reply. I tried the reset, but things are getting quirkier.

    Initially I couldn't get the headphones to even power on (even though they had charged yesterday). So I connected the white charging piece (that I had charged yesterday while the black charging piece was charging the headphones) and it didn't even light up to show a charge. So I connected the power to the white charger connected to the headphones and all lights went on (awesome). I disconnected the headphones a minute later and powered on. It said 80% - great. So I powered off again to try the reset again. The blinking with the up and down volume never occurred. I gave up. I just tried to power on a? minute ago and I'm getting nothing, no power.

    ?

    Please? help. I used to love these things and all of a sudden things are falling apart.
