    Hello christianbeccy,

Thank you for joining the community.

The Jaybird X4 is an improvement from the Jaybird X3. One aspect is connectivity. Please feel free to go to this link to learn more:

I just bought the X4s and went on one run outside. The connectivity issues have not been resolved. On a 3 mile run the X4s disconnected about 15-20 times. The disconnection was very short and made the song sound like it was skipping (similar to a CD in a disk-man). I will give them another shot but after taxes ($148) the price point of these headphones should be above reproach. I will return them if this persists. It is too bad because I did a lot of research and comparison on the X3s, X4s, and the Power Beats 3 and really like the looks and feel of these headphones. Hope this helps others.

Thanks for your reply @Manny Gomez? , it's just as I suspected. I think Jaybird must be paying all the Tech reviewers because none of them, such as Rizknows, MKBHD, SoundGuys etc, seem to cover this issue, despite it being WIDELY spoken about across the internet. It's a great shame, they tick so many other boxes.

Those are exactly the sites that helped me make my purchasing decision. I think you are right. They never mention the disconnection problems.

I have owned the X4 for a few weeks now, and i will be returning them to choose a different brand. The connection issue even when your phone is in your pocket is terrible. I can't even put my phone down next to me in the gym without getting dropouts. I have a pair of sony BT headphones that i can walk 20-30m away from before getting drop outs, so for the price, this is unacceptable.

ok before we say its not the headphones..

my bluetooth in my phone will connect to the Jabra bluetooth in my car if im 30 meters away.

If i go out on my motorbike it connects to my SHO1 bluetooth helmet, if i go to fill up with petrol i can leave the phone in top box on the bike, and walk into the shop and pay whilst streaming music from mt phone, 20-25 meters away.

When i connect to the jaybird x 4 i can't even listen to them without CONSTANT dropouts, when i have the phone in my jeans back pocket walking the dog!!

done the resets, etc. these headphones are an utter joke.

These will be comming back to you, allong with most all the others you sold i guess.

Do you pay the reviewers NOT to mention this?

In the end I got sick reading all the crappy feedback, I bought Jabra Elite 65t's. They are awesome, full wireless with a charging case. No drops, no glitches. I've done 5 substantial gym workouts with them and they're still on 100% charge (obviously from the power in the charging case). Honestly Jaybird, you have a long way to go. I'm out.

I wish I'd read these reviews before buying my X3s. I'm amazed to learn there isn't much improvement with the X4s. My X3s are incredibly annoying, dropping in and out constantly.

I often use them while I'm working outside. I have my phone in my front right pocket, about two feet from the ear buds, and any turn of my head to the right will cause the sound to drop out.

Even now as I right this I'm sitting at a table with my phone by my right elbow and the connection is dropping in and out. It's kind of amazing, and really in the neighborhood of fraudulent to even sell Bluetooth ear buds that function this poorly.

That's my input. Feel free to send me $100 refund, JBL. I thought you guys built fairly good quality stuff, but this will be the last time I buy anything from your brand.
