My Jaybird Run that I bought last week has the same problem. The left earbud disconnect frequently. Anyone know If there is solution to fix this issue?

@scomazzi If you can still return them, I would. I updated the firmware of mine as well as getting replacement pair. I am not sure how the replacement pair is yet because they are still in transit. But, from what I read online, it will not make a difference. That is a shame because like everyone else, I love my Jaybird X2 and X3.

If I touch my right earbud when the left one disconnects, it gets connected again. It seems like my hand works as an antenna. If that is true, then this product is lack of antenna/transmitter.

It border line kills me to say it because I did like Jaybird and really wanted to love these Runs, but...if you can get out of owning these get out while the getting is good. There should be a recall on these or offer a very easy replacement but I doubt they will. If there WAS a fix for this issue it would have happened by now or they realize there is no fix and just hope word won’t get out to the point it significantly damages their brand and that this problem will somehow just go away on its own.

I am having the same issue. Why isn't anyone from the company responding on this thread? It would be a shame to just return it. They fit great.

There should be something done about this. How can you put out these earbuds on the store shelves and take people’s money knowing they are defective. It ain’t right, Jaybirds credit ability was so good until now. It’s ridiculous

Hello everyone, the disconnection you experience is like a faded disconnect when listening music for example? like randomly, no pattern right?

I don't think Jaybird has the answer to this.

1.Make the right hand over the unit to reflect the propagation, or

    2. Aim the right unit for the left unit and it connects briefly.

Of course, when someone's Bluetooth device passes by, the connection is lost.

The bottom line is don't buy it.

They better be able to fix this with a firmware update. The left bud connects to the right and the right connects to your music device as far as I know and that's probably where the problem is.

And nobody mentioned the white noise when in idle. I've had the BBX for a few years and it died on me recently so I bought these trusting in Jaybird quality but so far this has been a big let down.

These have the worst bluetooth connection issues I have ever experienced. I am currently at the gym and signal is in and out about 90% of the time. Something as small as my thumb over my screen as I type this makes the signal drop consistently. I have NO IDEA how these were ever released. We paid $170 for garbage. Stay FAR away. I will be returning these.

Also noticed that when I stop chewing my gum the signal stops dropping out ?? Again, how did this ever get past QC?!

Operating my iPhone in airplane mode does not help either.

Bought these a week ago. Very disappointed with this issue, it's distracting and will be my last purchase from Jaybird. That there's no company response to this thread tells me I'm making the right choice in returning these for another brand.

I bought mine back in mid January from Best Buy and am long past the 14 day return policy and though there was some cutting out here and there, it was intermittent. I have to report that in the last few weeks it's gotten tremendously worse. The earbuds are disconnecting from each other every few seconds. This is unacceptable for such a premium priced product.

I have the exact same problem! As I’m writing this my iPhone is 20 cm from my head, and my left bud is completely dead. It’s fully charged, it’s on, it’s connected, but there’s no sound at all.

How can jaybird not react to all these comments? The RUNs are nothing but overpriced pieces of garbage.

My Jaybird days are over for good!

Mine started having this same issue so I returned them (6 months old) and got new ones. The new ones do the same in fact both ears disconnect intermittently (several times in 10 minutes). I am thinking it must be an iOS update is needed. Possibly there is some new coding that deals with the bluetooth interface and it needs to be addressed.

"These have the worst bluetooth connection issues I have ever experienced."

"How can jaybird not react to all these comments? "

I really hoped thes would work. The sound was full body and the fit was great. I bought two pairs in one week. Both have the same disastrous left bud "connection" (connecting way less than 50% of the time, even though having no object blocking the signal etc.!). Indeed peculiar why Jaybird feel it is worth to destroy a good brand by pushing this test version out on the market! I have tried all kind of resets, reboots in different electronical environments, unpairs, different phones etc. I will probably now return my second pair this week.

The remaining question which I would much appreciate if Jaybird could honestly respond to:

Is this problem something that is software related (possibly to be fixed soon by new firmware??) or is it actually failing hardware?

    Please react/reply soon!

    Thank you

I'm having exactly the same issue with my left earbud. I can't listen to one full song without this happening a few times. The left earbud keeps disconnecting. This is very annoying and frustrating after paying $200 for a this product!

If you can return it, do it asap. Otherwise, try my temporary solution; touch your right bud with you finger.

I really struggled with this issue for about a day and a half. I was near giving up especially after reading all the negative comments, but I have to say this was like many other technology issues that I worked with during my career , sometimes just being hard headed and persistent pays off in the end.

    ?

I followed the recommendation given by jaybird and had to do it three or four times . But then finally I don't know exactly why the solution worked and now my earbuds work flawlessly even up to 25 feet away from the phone. The left ear never drops out in the sound quality is terrific .

    ?

The only thing I can tell you is keep trying follow the directions carefully ?. I don't want to mess with it to go back and find out but I have a suspicion that it may be that after I deleted the pairing for the Jaybird run and that I did rebooted the phone after deleting the pairing. Then I paired according to the instructions for a hard reset that it began to work flawlessly. I am using a Samsung Note 9.

    ?

I will just mention that I also own a pair of Funcl AI earbuds which actor recently got from an Indiegogo campaign . They have worked flawlessly from the first time that I paired them and have terrific sound quality. However they do not stay in my ears as well as the Jaybird runs. ?
