Freedom Charging Problems

I received a pair of Freedoms as a replacement for another pair of Jaybirds that stopped working. I had them for 5 months and they too stopped working. Wouldn't take a charge or turn on. Jaybird support could not offer any solutions, and also denied a warranty claim.

It is definitely a known issue that these headphones have charging problems. A quick look through this support forum will review a plethora of charging related issues.

Good luck, hopefully they will help you more than they helped me.

Bingo on what Stevecb06 said. I think I may be going back to the store to cash out my warranty and switch brands if they don't honor my warranty. Good headphones, disappointed in the build for this model.

Dobin, which brand are you considering switching to? I went with Jaybirds because they are sweat proof and wireless. There doesn't seem to be many that fit that bill.

I haven't a clue as of yet. I work for a global fitness franchise(not gonna toss names and cause issues :P) and so we all tend to lean on Jaybird, Beat, or wired headphones. But I am gonna have to research. I loved my first set of Jaybirds. Upgraded, and then got this... update. The headphones now show a green light on the cradle, nothing form the headphones themselves. Sweet....

    Update again...

I took a needle and scratch cleaned the contacts for the charge cradle. Blew it off and attached, for the moment it is charging. So this could just be corrosion from sweat? but still, very concerned it is a bandaid and going to revert to FUBAR

In February 2017, I had to have my old set replaced due to a connectivity issue and was give the Freedom. Just this past week they quit charging. I tried every technical fix Jaybird had listed and even scrapped any sweat buildup of the connections to no avail. I just sent Jaybird a request about the problem so maybe I will hear something back soon.

Dobin, I want to thank you for your suggestion about the needle. I did that and lo and behold, the earbuds started charging again! Again, I had this problem on both sets of Freedoms so I did it to both and now, both can charge on the charging block. So I decided that I need to protect those contacts on the earbuds so I decided to ride last night with the charging block attached. About 10 miles into my ride, I completely lost audio. I stopped and when I removed the power block, they started working again. When I reattached the charging block, they powered off. So, I rode the rest of the way with the charging block off and everything was fine. When I got home, I powered on my 2nd set of Freedoms and attached the charging block to them and they immediately powered off. I can't figure this out. I thought the whole point of having them attached to the charging block was to provide an additional 4 hours of play time. Both charging blocks were fully charged prior to me attaching the earbuds to them. I need to figure out a way to protect those contacts on the earbuds because my sweat is obviously causing the problem by getting on them. I thought the simplest solution would be to keep the charging block attached all the time to protect them, but obviously that isn't going to work. Thanks for your suggestions.

Okay, so I was sent these pair of Freedom wireless earbuds due to the fact that my previous X2 buds were duds and malfunctioned on me. I went through the whole warranty and return process. IN return i was given the option to receive these Freedom wireless earbuds because the X2s' were no longer in production. Thats fine, as long as i have earphones to use. I got the Wireless Freedoms in the mail. After about 4 uses in a 2 week span, same problem as the X2's!!! These things won't even hold a charge, its ridiculous. The earbuds will not turn on unless the charging clip is attached and even then they will last only about 20 minutes despite being "fully charged". I don't know what else to do and I'm sure there are numerous others who have had this problem.
