    Hi Brindood,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience that you are experiencing with the ear tips of your Jaybird headset. I'll be glad to help you with the concern.

Based on the information that you provided, it seems that you only experience this on a specific size of the silicone ear tips. it's possible that the ear tips are broken and is causes it not to "stick" on the earbuds.

I can create a ticket here and ask our support team to help you with your concern and perhaps they can provide you silicone ear tips to replace the ones that you've lost and for you test if there's a difference.

    Hope this helps.

    Warm regards,

    Egie

    Hello,

I came across the same issue, after about month or two of use. Most of the time when I try to take the earphone out, the rubber tip just stays in the ear. I can't explain what caused such behaviour, because they never even been in my pocket. In my opinion it's a slight flaw in the design, as the tips are not actually locked into place, they are just kind go over the top.

@Engelbert Bautista That would be great, thanks for the help. I have my original box for the X3s, but I'm not sure where my reciept for the purchase has gone. I think I can go to my place of purchase and check for a copy. Please let me know if this is needed.

@Nicolae Ileshov Yes, I can see what toy mean and I've also owned earbuds that has some way of securing the tips. Alas, the "perfect" product is always out of reach for the consumer.

So, after further use I narrowed down the problem. Only one one ear tip kept falling out, no matter on which side it was. And now as you might guess, I've lost one. This is very bad, as in the additional accessories bag, additional medium size pair of rubber tips was not supplied (only small and large, which of course don't fit properly) . And now I have to purchase an entire accessory bag just for one rubber tip. I do understand that you trying to make money, but this is slightly ridiculous.

I have the same problem with my ~2 month old X3, and had the same problem with the original X. It is pretty infuriating the engineering team who designs the flange for this company should be fired. I'm probably going to return these awfully designed products.

Well, this is called marketing and there's no point in continuing this.

I have the same problem with my X3!! But it's not just in my ear, it mostly falls out when it's in the case, or any other time that the tips are 'touched' in some way. It is not secure at all. I've now lost a eartip on one side for the best fitting size. The other sizes are not comfortable. This has never been an issue with other headphones I've owned. I've only had these for a couple of months.. @Engelbert Bautista what can I do, can you send me new tips without charge? It's getting so annoying I am thinking of taking them back for a refund.

Yesterday this happened to me when gently pulling to take them out the silicone tip fell off and landed in another dimension. Having used them for only a month.

A working solution I found when back home is to very gently rinse both the metal part and the inner part of the tip with very diluted dish-wash soap on a piece of paper. Just to remove any grease, both from production and probably ear wax. Then dry both parts with household paper and now they will stick much better together.

The system Jaybird uses for their tips seem to rely heavily on friction and if the surfaces get even a tiny bit greasy they wont hold together at all. Testing was probably done with brand new products for short periods of time whenever real world tested. Which is kind of dumb for a third iteration of a really good product, but hey who am I to judge people who get payed to make sure these things doesn't happen.

I am also facing the same problem. The ear tips fall off very easily. They aren't properly secured with the X3. This is really annoying. The tips either stay in the ears or they fall off whenever I take the earphones out of my ear. I'm always afraid to lose the eartips whenever I use my X3.

This is not at all expected from a JayBird earphone.

Same problem with my jaybird x3. It's not about size it's just rubbish design and these are main flaws I wouldn't recommend x3 as I also found there's a delay in sync between phone and jaybird Bluetooth Wonder if people had this issue too ?

I found a solution - I took the earphones back to the store I purchased it at 3 months ago, explained the issue and they gave me a full refund with no dramas at all. I decided on the spot to upgrade to the Bose Soundsport Wireless and I'm so happy that I did. They might not be as attractive, but after the issues with the X3, I don't mind. I just want functional and no fuss when using it. It's been amazing.

@Pritish Lohokare?  I too had that lagging issue. I thought it was normal, until I started using the Bose. There is no lag, and you can connect to more than one device at a time.

Pretty disappointed with the X3, and for not hearing back from Jaybirds. I will have serious doubts about purchasing again from them :(

I have all the X3 accessories and most of the buds, happy to give it to anyone who needs (if you pay for postage) tho I am based in Australia.

thank you @soo bahk?  I am now moving into that direction. Just return these if they take it otherwise I have wasted £100 on really ordinary piece of design that manufacturer like Jaybird would come up with!

there's a definite lag in the way it is and despite of any resets etc, it just performs poorly

Its less than 3 months ago I purchased them and the silicon buds or other buds they have given us with the package, they are extremely poor design. I have used those medium or small size buds too, all go down in similar way - they just come out of the assembly no matter how swiftly you want to take them off the ear!

This is scary - my replacements are in the mail, and the previous ones had other defects, did they actually help you with this guys? Or did they blame it on you? I wonder if I should even open mine or return it straight away.

Just picked up a pair of Jaybird Freedoms to replace a lost pair of Bose Soundsports. I liked the small profile, the cord management, and I'd heard good things in general and the Apple shop had a 14-day no questions asked return policy so I decided to I gave it a try.

The first time I used/removed them, the silicone tip stayed put and I had to fish it out of my ear. This was literally the first use so i can't attribute it to ear wax, cleaning, etc, and I've since cycled through all the silicone tip sizes, always with the same result...

Its a pity because I like everything else about these, but this is a tough compromise, and a primary function that should be addressed in the design as invariably I'll be losing these frequently. Regrettably, I'm off to return these for the bulky but reliable Bose alternative...

I have the same problem. Tried all the tip sizes, none of them works great. is there a way you guys can ship something if you have a fix? after getting frustrated with jaybirds, I recently bought a pair of Here One and they stick in so well and great great sound. Would appriciate if you guys can send a fix. Hate to see my money go to waste

    Hey Guys

I was just advised by the Jaybird customer care on the email that I should try using the sponge ones that were supplied with the X3s.

Here is what I had to respond:

    Hi

I did try all the tips all the sizes all types that you have supplied. The sponge ones are sticky and really poor quality. I have used some of them and they are already teared off.. they are really poor quality

This is very disappointing that the regular silica ones are so bad fitments. I can see that on the support forum there are so many complaints about all of those types of supplied ear tips

    Hi

I have read over the Jaybird X3 discussion forums and I am glad I am not the only one experiencing these issues. I purchased the X3 late last year and have been so disappointing with the ear tips falling off all the time. I had a pair of wired V-moda and the seal and the silicon tips on those are great. I don't really like the foam tips because they don't have as great of of a seal in my ears. I lost one of my original silicon tips, that fell off somewhere. So I emailed Jaybird customer service and they were great and sent me a new set of ear tips. I tried those along with the wingtips and finally today I just lost one of the tips again. I feel like we are paying for product that was very badly designed. It is so frustrating that we pay good money for some headphones that are not up to standard. Now I am stuck with some headphones that I consistently need to buy ear tips replacements for. I wish I could return them because after this experience I would rather buy a different brand of Bluetooth headphones.

I resolved this issue by washing the ear tips. Now they stay on perfectly again.
