My X2 is fully charged but will not turn on. It worked for several months but now this problem has developed. Any suggestions?

    @Roy Peterson

    Try this,

Firmly but quickly press the power button 8 times and then hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 2 times.

When finished, plug the headset into the charger and tell me what you see.

Most of the time if the headset turns RED it will charge and function normally again,

Make sure that if the light is red to fully charge the unit again.

Try holding the power button down for 10 seconds also some times it takes longer to turn them on.

This just happened to me today while at the gym.  While listening to music I suddenly heard, "Redialing..." and then "Power Off".  And that is all she wrote.  None of the provided solutions in the other postings have fixed my X2's either.  :(

UPDATE: Beau from Jaybird contacted me and has provided an acceptable resolution. It appears my poor experience described below was isolated. Great to see Jaybird is still committed to their products!

Get your money back and run from this company. They used to be great, standing behind their product. However, Jaybird was acquired by Logitech this year.

I had three (!!!) pair of X/X2's with each failing as you describe. Jaybird promptly replaced the units each time one failed (obviously a known issue situation).

When my third pair stopped working recently, I ran into a cold support system. They claimed the wouldn't replace my defective product because the warranty on the ORIGINAL unit had expired and they provide no warranty on replacement units (ref # 04380526).

There are many great alternatives available on Amazon now ... many at 1/3 the price. Get your money back and buy from any other company than this. So sad to see the decline of a once potentially strong brand.

@Sean Cissell Do you get any LED lights at all? Have you tried other charging sources?

Thanks, Beau.  I get the green LED to tell me that it's fully charged but the buttons don't respond at all.

@Beau Brace I'm  having the same issue.  I have found that if I plug it in, I can then power it on (and it has 100%), however I usually use these at the gym and don't have a USB power with me.  I've tried the button press from the beginning of the thread but this didn't work.   I also had this on my original BlueBuds and after a couple of years, I thought they were going bad, so I got the x2 about 3 months about and now they're having the same issue.

@James Lucero Do you receive and LED indication when plugged into the charger?

[@beau] Yes, the LED turns on breifly red, then green solid.  At that point I can turn on the headphones and they work normally, on the phone (iPhone) it shows 100%.  It seems this behavior is more common after I fully charge them, unplug them and leave them for a day, then try to use them.  Its the same behavior on my original BlueBuds as well as the x2 set I bought because I thought the BlueBuds were just getting old.

@Beau Brace I too am having the same issue.  when plugged in, the power indicator turns red for a split second and then solid green.  I've left it charging long enough to be fully charged. However, there is not response when I attempt to disconnect the USB cable and power on.  I've attempted the 8x reset method  when I first reported the issue (reference number is 04264943) to no avail.

I have the exact same issue. Id like to exchange these if possible. Spent $200 on a pair of headphones and they barely work...

@Beau Brace could you just post about how to fix the issue instead of making all these cases please? Seems that this is happening to a lot of people and I find it incredibly frustrating.

Hi I am encountering the exact sme problem. Has there been any solution so far? Thanks

@Jerry Koen If the 8x reset did not fix the issue, then there is no other TR steps to try. There is nothing else to try if the headset will not turn on. The only things to try in this issues is another charging cable or power outlet. Also the 8x reset.

?@Beau Brace Am also experiencing similar issues. I just fully charged my headphones and use them as normal, but after a few minutes they will randomly turn off. I can't turn it back on without first inserting the charger. Have already tried resetting by holding volume buttons and the 8x reset.

@Beau Brace so my $130 sport headphones didn't even last a year with normal use and customer support made no apparent real attempt at solving the issue. Glad I chose Jaybird.

No answer but I am having the same problem. Less than a year old and after a reset they only turn on for a couple of minutes before turning off and having to be plugged in again. Frustrating!

Terrible product. I spend more time trying to reboot or pairing your earphones than using it.
