My Freedom Special Edition earbuds are not charging beyond 40%, even after being on charger over night. I took a few months off from using them; what is wrong?

    Hi DeAnneMarie,

I am sorry to hear that your Jaybird Freedom does not charge properly. I can assure that this is not the behavior and performance expected from the product. Please try these suggestions that can help to resolve the issue of your headset:

    - Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.

    - Try a different power source/charger

    - Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.

    - Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2.5 hours,

    - To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.

    - Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.

    - Make sure charging port/cradle is clear of any debris.

Hi Jaybird Bruce, Now they are not turning on at all.  Below I've included responses to the criteria that is recommended for charging.  I'm getting nothing from them not with the charger/extended battery or without.  They seem officially dead after less than a year of use.Do you have any suggestions or do I just need to buy a new pair of headphones?  Sorry if I'm short but I'm very irritated right now, I'm about to get back into training and I have no headphones. - Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.  Most recently they have been charging on my laptop. - Try a different power source/charger.  I did switch up where they were charging, no difference. - Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.  I've never charged them in the car. - Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2.5 hours,  This would have been nice to know, since they seemed to not be charging they have been charging overnight/all day in an effort to get the level of charge up. - To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.  I always did this so that they would be ready for my next run. - Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.  Never did this. - Make sure charging port/cradle is clear of any debris.  It is.
