Is there any way to lower the volume of the loud voice prompts (connected, on, off) and the beeping when volume goes too low?

    Please fix this issue. I use them in the night while i try to sleep, and the alert telling me that remains 20% of battery is fu**ing scary, in any time i will have a heart attack.

    @Jonathan Ho  We are currently working on an update to change the voice prompt volume. Thank you for bringing that up, in the mean time I just suggest using the LED lights to indicate that power prompts. The Green light indicates the power on and the Red LED indicates power off. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    no update will ever be released. There's no way you can fix this over a software update. Stop lying to people.

    Please Please Please fix the annoying voice prompts and drum beats.  They would be intolerable even if they weren't  excruciatingly loud.  Please.     Every other person that has Jaybird Freedoms feels the same as I do.   Other than this annoying 'feature' I think these are great,  but I can't recommend them as they are.

    I would like to add to the chorus of requests to fix this issue.  The volume announcement is absolutely shocking and painful.  It causes me to yell out each time and that is not helpful for anyone.  PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!

    makemesignup, don't be so dramatic.  Such a thing can be fixed with a firmware update, if Jaybird gets around to it.

    I owned the Blubuds and X2 and almost thought I bought a knock off pair (didn't come in official packaging) due to the start up voice and little jingle that follows. It's a different voice than in other generations. Is this normal for the Freedom buds? Obnoxious female voice with followed by a little game show sounding jingle?

    Just wanted to chime in here as well. I've had my X3 buds for a few months and assumed this would have been fixed by now (I've been checking this thread). Please make lowering the voice prompts volume a priority, the extreme volume is hazardous to your customers' hearing.

    I would like to request this enhancement as well. Being able to change the default volume of the earbuds for alerts, even through the app, would be most helpful. It left a really negative first impression of the earbuds: Put them in, the initial voice prompt was too loud, tried to lower the volume by pressing the volume down repeatedly, removed them quickly as the too-loud battery notification sounded for each time I had tried to lower the volume.

    I love how we can customize the sound with MySound App. But please, give us a possibility to lower the voice of the prompts. As it is now, it's way too high and it hurts the ears!

    Bump - I just got new X3's and I'm astonished that this was allowed to pass quality control. I know that sounds kind of pretentious - but at this price point, these little annoyances shouldn't be an issue.

    I had plan to buy an x3 but since I read this thread, I think I will wait or find another product. I don't understand why Jaybird does not give any update on this thread for the last 6 months.

    Don't get me wrong, the buds are great! would buy again over any wireless earbuds, even if i knew this beforehand, but the option to turn it of would be great.

    Agree, these are the best BT headphones (I even like them more than over-ears Bose Q35 and Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2), give it a try. As for loud notification, I use a workaround - connect first, then put them on ;)

    Well, a workaround may work one out of ten times, because most often I just want to keep them in my ears and switch on and off according to need. Also it happened that I thought I turned them off and actually they stayed on and battery discharged. And it seriously worry me that nobody gives us any update on the real solution.

    Any update on the automatic extreme startup and shutdown volume? You can't leave them in or have them in your ears at startup or shutdown.

    I got a response, 'sorry its too loud for you.' Which wasn't super useful when you think about it.

     

    They sit in the bottom of a drawer. Too many prompts at full volume, battery 60%, battery 50%, connecting... Every time you come in range of a paired device. Sigh.

    How Is this still a problem?! Every time I skip a track, my ear canals about to blow. It’s been almost a year and still no fix... tells me that jaybird doesn’t give a shit about their customers. Last time I will support them.

    Agree with everyone else. The volume is incredibly too loud. The Jaybird app needs a voice prompt volume control. Bose has that ability. Jaybird's lack of functionality like voice prompt control and lack of company response from customer forums could lead to rather ugly reviews. Think about this, your customer's happiness is your profits.

    I agree. This factor is making me consider returning these and finding something different. Please fix it Jaybird! At least acknowledge it. The notifications are blasting. First time I heard the battery level notification I nearly jumped out of my skin.
